Privacy Policy
Effective 30 July 2026. This policy explains what personal information Knox Learning Academy LLP (“Knox”, “we”, “us”) collects through the Knox Go mobile app and the Knox web dashboard, why we collect it, who can see it, and the choices you have.
1. Who we are
Knox Learning Academy LLP is a coaching institute based in Bettiah, Bihar, India. We are the data fiduciary for the information described here. For any privacy question or request, contact [email protected].
2. Who uses Knox Go
Knox Go is a closed, institutional app. Accounts are created by Knox staff for enrolled students and for our own employees and faculty. There is no public sign-up. If you are not a Knox student or staff member, you cannot create an account.
Many of our students are minors. Their accounts are created only after enrolment, which is completed by a parent or guardian, and the enrolment record includes parent/guardian contact details. Parents and guardians may contact us at any time to review or request changes to their child’s information.

What we do not collect
- No location data. Knox Go never requests or collects your location.
- No advertising identifiers and no device fingerprinting.
- No contacts, SMS, call logs, camera or microphone access. The app does not request these permissions.
- No third-party advertising or analytics trackers. Knox Go contains none.
4. How we use your information
- To run your classes: attendance, tests, practice problems, study material and results.
- To let you and your teachers communicate about your studies.
- To keep you and your parent or guardian informed about attendance, results, notices and fees.
- To maintain fee and receipt records required for our accounts.
- To secure accounts, prevent misuse and diagnose faults.
- To meet legal and regulatory obligations.
We do not use your information for advertising, and we never sell personal information.
5. Notifications and messaging
With your permission, we send push notifications about notices, tests, practice problems, attendance, replies from your teachers and fee reminders. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings, and you can control individual notification categories in Android’s notification settings for Knox Go. Turning them off does not affect your access to the app.
We also send messages over WhatsApp to the phone numbers on your enrolment record — typically a parent or guardian — for attendance updates, results, notices and fee reminders. To stop these, contact the academy office.
6. Who can see your information
- You, through your own account.
- Your parent or guardian, through the contact details on your enrolment record.
- Authorised Knox staff and faculty, limited by their role — a teacher sees the students they teach; administrative access is restricted to administrators.
We use a small number of service providers who process data only on our instructions: Google Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver push notifications, and Meta’s WhatsApp Business Platform to deliver WhatsApp messages. We do not share your information with anyone else, except where the law requires it.
7. Where your information is stored, and for how long
Data is stored on servers operated for Knox and is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections. On your device, your login token is held in the operating system’s secure keystore, and files you download are kept in the app’s private storage.
We keep academic and financial records for as long as you are enrolled, and afterwards for as long as we need them for accounting, audit and legitimate institutional record-keeping. Information that is no longer needed is deleted or anonymised.
8. Your rights
You may ask us to:
- give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- correct anything that is wrong or out of date;
- delete your account and the personal information we are not required to retain;
- stop sending you WhatsApp messages or notifications.
To delete your account, see Account deletion, or use Profile → Delete account in the Knox Go app. For anything else, email [email protected] from your registered address and we will respond within 30 days.
If you are a student under 18, a parent or guardian may exercise these rights on your behalf. We handle personal data in line with India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
9. Security
Passwords are stored hashed, never in plain text. Access to the dashboard is restricted by role. All traffic between the app and our servers uses encrypted HTTPS; the app refuses unencrypted connections. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep your password private and tell us immediately if you think your account has been misused.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the effective date above and, where the change is significant, tell you in the app. Continuing to use Knox Go after a change means you accept the updated policy.
